Boasting an inviting, timber-lined interior, the downstairs area has a cosy lounge with wood heater. There’s a large television (for viewing a range of videos and DVDs) and a stereo system complete with CDs. Also downstairs is a well equipped kitchen and rustic, built in dining setting. The bathroom (also downstairs) contains a shower, hand basin and toilet – plus a washing machine and laundry trough for those extended stays.

A beautifully crafted staircase using natural Tasmanian timbers leads to the bedroom on the mezzanine floor. Here you’ll find a comfortable, hand-built, rustic timber double bed (with electric blanket) which, together with the steep, pitched cathedral ceiling, adds to the country atmosphere.
As mentioned, the cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and, upon arrival, you will be provided with supplies for both continental and cooked breakfast, included in the tariff. If you have particular dietary requirements, please let us know beforehand and we’ll do our best to fulfil these.

The entire property has been designated as Habitat and “Land for Wildlife.” Whilst we ask that you do not feed the animals, you are welcome to quietly observe – and photograph if you wish – the padymelons and wallabies being fed daily in the late afternoon. As evening closes in, you may hear ‘visitors’ on the cabin deck. Generally these will be brush-tailed possums – or on rare occasions a spotted tailed quoll. Whilst these furry creatures may look cute, they can bite and scratch so please don’t be tempted to try to touch them.

We are in very close proximity to world-class trout fishing lakes and streams. With Cradle Mountain, forest walks and many towns and tourist attractions close by, the area has so much to offer.
